Puppies are passé, the new accessories for ‘it’ girls are cupcakes. Once Sex and the City gave publicity to Magnolia Bakery in NYC, everyone has been on a confection craze. Even the Olsen twins have recently invested in a cupcake business (Sweet Lady Jane). The above collage is constructed from some old tears from Elle Decoration magazine (December 05 issue).
Edit (by Leo): Sorry my English is not so good so it turns out cupcakes are different from muffins. For local readers, in or around Philadelphia, our favorite cupcakes muffins are sold across the street from us at The Pond (630 N 2nd St just south of Fairmount and 2nd). They’re provided by Baker Jim our local culinary cupcake craftsman. All of the baked goods he sells there are awesome, but the various berry filled cupcakes are simply nothing short of amazing, not to mention that they’re a steal at $2.

[...] Turns out pastries are the hot new thing for hot young things. According to SeamSters, the Olsen twins have not eaten a cupcake but instead invested in their own cupcake business. [...]
yay cupcakes! i love these images…i had them marked in my elle decoration too!
Oh, that looks amazing! I live in L.A. and there is “Queen’s Bakery” downtown Chinatown that has the most amazing pastries. I have a weakness for tarts. I’ll have to check that place out when I’m in New York again.
waiting in line at magnolia bakery for the cupcakes so isn’t worth it…but if you ask me about their banana pudding, its a different story
Baked NYC is the best! I have tried many a cupcake and theirs are the best in NYC in my opinion. (Close second is Little Cupcake Bakeshop in Bay Ridge)
