While vacationing over the last couple days in Montreal, Leo and I met up with Serigraphie Cinqunquatre. We met the printmaking duo of Alice Jarry and Jason Cantoro at the Renegade Craft Fair a few weeks back. Their work is a wonderful mixture of textures and layers upon layers of their favorite images. We are the proud owners of a sceenprint of Alice’s grandfather placed a top a repeating pattern-like stripe of a parrot. Check out their site for more info and images of their work.
These are extremely disturbing in a love kind of way. I like the Paint by Numbers birds in the background, it gives an innocence to the scary blindfolded children in the foreground.
