Fashion Alert: Single Straps are the New Strap

Ladies, dig out your strapless bras. If you haven’t received the memo yet, single strap dresses are the biggest message of the spring 07 runways. I’ve totally been digging a recent strapless dress by Tibi which can be found in stores now. But, for all of these runway looks we are going to have to wait a bit until it trickles down to Forever 21 in the spring. Above are printed, shiny, and solid looks by Balenciaga, Ungaro, Sofia Kokosalaki, Cacharel, and Max Mara.

oh Ami,
Some things like tarzan/toga attire are better left in the Debbie Gibson Era!
but the black/yellow printed one looks pretty tempting.

I love a nice one strap toga dress, it’s a timeless classic. . . But what I’m really interested in from these images is Balenciaga’s gold lame leggings. They look part robot, part reptile scales. . Now there’s the future of fashion!

Those leggings are really far out, if any of you dare to try this at home, I would recomend springing for American Apparel’s gold lame leggings before taking the financial plunge with the Balenciaga pair.

Again?! It wasn’t that long ago.

I agree with S. above! Wasn’t this a recent trend? I guess it was kind of disco-ish, and this seems more feminine. I like the bottom left pic (lavender dress) though

I love the lavender dress too. Sofia Kokosalaki is amazing. I think that this is a new approach to the recent 80’s trend. It’s more about futurism rather than retrospection. It’s especially poignant with the high shine pieces by Balenciaga.
