Hmmmm…do I retract my hatred of ballet flats?

In the past I’ve made some pretty strong statements about ballet flats, but I think I may have changed my opinion. In Paris almost everyone was wearing ballet flats and it actually looked really cute. The best way to wear the look is with red patent leather flats paired with black jeans tailored to the perfect length (very Audrey Hepburn).
The other reason why I’m so ready to accept these shoes is that they are the opposite of my most recent focus of hatred, Uggs. I know they are comfortable but enough is enough.

So practical, and pretty cute and all. . . But I’m a heels girl. Heels make every outfit look that much better!

how could you have ever hated them? they are so classic and chic. audrey and givenchy (who primarily outfitted her) knew what was up… as a tall girl i’ve found they were the only simple and elegant alternative out there and have been wearing them for years… i don’t think i can really go back. which is ok, seeing as how they are a classic.

Ballet flats are great. The key is not to abuse them like uggs. I agree with you I almost hate them. Ive had the same pair for like 5 years. I live in chicago I wear them when its cold, like below zero. . Im not living in LA running around robertson in them for gods sake. Lets make a pact not to abuse flats and wear them with every outfit. Love your blog. check me out sometime.

When we started seeing flats EVERYWHERE, I said to my fiance “you will never catch me wearing those ugly things!”. but now I’m a little ashamed to say that I find myself wishing I had a pair to complete an outfit that doesn’t seem to go with heels.
p.s.
I love this blog.
