Debate… The Return of Platforms

platform_debate.jpg

Nooo! I was truly convinced that this trend was dead for good, but for the past year now, the super-high stacked platform has begun to resurface. Here are two of the latest platform designs from Yves Saint Laurent and Allesandro Dell’Aqua. I think these brick heels should remain as seventies relics, never to be taken out of their museum glass cases. What do you guys think?

Totally agreed. I can appreciate the slightly geisha look of the lower pair (although i hope no one would ever wear them) but the top pair is hideous. seventies indeed…

I agree they should be left in the history books. Can’t understand how someone would wear something like that.

agreed these guys should be left for the history books, however there are great platforms coming out right now…they’re a bit toned down, but similar feel…i just got this pair of rachel comey platforms and am in love http://www.gargyle.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=84&products_id=62

agreed. i can appreciate them in my favourite photos of my mother, but i myself wont do it. also, i cant help but feel their re-surfacing is schematically linked with the return of a certain pop girl group of the nineties.

agree! they should safely be locked behind the pages of our fashion history books. however, not all platforms are hideous, just most of them.

Oh no- I totally disagree! I love exaturated foot wear. The more archatectual the better! Certainly not for the office, but what fun for a night out!

I would trip and break my face in those shoes!
