Book to buy for yourself: Sample
Monday, January 8th, 2007
Another amazing present I received this Christmas was the book, Sample, Cuttings from Contemporary Fashion. I am completely in love with this book, it’s jam packed of great pictures of some of my favorite designers, along with a bunch that I hadn’t heard of before (which is refreshing to me, as most fashion books just cover the main stream). This book is curated by many fashion greats, along with Alexander McQueen. One of my favorite finds from the book, as shown in the above pic is Mina Perhonen’s collection. The styling of the photoshoots are amazing, check out her site at http://www.mina-perhonen.jp/.
Amazing:Renata Morales
Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007
I’m in love. That is with Renata Morales, the Mexican-born, Montreal-based brand. I love the amazing prints and fabric manipulations. I recently became aware of them thanks to Refinery 29′s coverage of one of my most favorite cities, Montreal. If you happen to be shopping there, stop in to see these in person at 5392 Boulevard Saint-Laurent. Or if you can’t brave the cold, just check out www.renatamorales.com. Or check out their flickr set here.
Trend or Not? Jazz shoes…
Monday, January 1st, 2007
So, I have a burning question for you all. What do we think about these shoes?
I keep seeing them pop up in photoshoots and so many of the cutest girls in Williamsburg are sporting them, but why do I hate the ideas of these pseudo jazz shoes so much??? Is this trend only happening because Kirsten Dust was seen sporting a white pair? What do you think, is this good or bad fashion?
Designer: Miss Crabb
Friday, December 22nd, 2006
I’ve been paging though the latest issue of NYLON, and I love their focus on Australian New Zealand’s edgy designers. Above are some shots from Miss Crabb’s site, I love the paisley-esque print she’s used across her garments.

Eley Kishimoto: Blog
Tuesday, December 19th, 2006
Okay, so I’m totally delighted that Eley Kishimoto finally has a functioning website. They are after all one of my favorite design teams ever (I treasure the few pieces that I am fortunate enough to own by them). And to make things even better they have a blog. Check it out here. I love this shot of some yardage for their interior projects.
One more thing to love from A.P.C
Thursday, December 14th, 2006
The other day my dear friend Zoe stopped by my studio wearing the above jacket by A.P.C. I think I might just be in love with this amazing alternative to the all too casual hoodie. I wish I could find a better picture, this pic from the A.P.C website does not do this garment justice. For all of you in the Philly area, check out this piece in person at Sugarcube.

Tuesday, December 5th, 2006
I’ve always been a fan of Hungarian inspired embroideries. Here are two options, to the left is Sheila Cook Textiles, and the right is a top designed by one of my favorite Free People ladies.

Shirt Shape: Artist Blouse
Monday, November 27th, 2006
I’m loving the ‘artist blouse’ shape that is happening on the runways. It’s such a natural transition from the knit tunic that has been happening for sooooo long. I can’t wait until this silhouette trickles down. The above looks are by Karen Walker, Gen Art, Nicole Miller, and Cacharel.
